uring the fall of 2002, Don Smith, former Missouri City Councilman, organized residents and committed business and civic leaders in Missouri City, Texas, who wanted to bring an event of purpose and substance to their community. As a result of that collaboration, the Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration Foundation was founded.

Welcome to the Annual Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration presented by the MCJCF in partnership with the city of Missouri City.

We are so proud and thankful for your support which has contributed to our accomplishments over the past eight years.

The five days of family oriented, educational, and cultural events are all free, thanks to the contributions and support of community oriented companies who understand the importance of supporting the customers they serve.

Presently, in its third year, the MCJCF scholarship fund provides financial support to deserving students. Scholarship recipients attend Baylor University, Stephen F. Austin, Prairie View A&M University, University of Missouri – Columbia, and The University of Texas.

This year the Missouri City Juneteenth celebration will include the inaugural Health and Wellness Fair, which will offer screening for the major causes of mortality of African Americans. We are excited that The American Heart Association has agreed to partner with us. Their presence will certainly contribute to the success of this noble cause.

Come and enjoy the largest celebration of its kind in the United States.
