Juneteenth Events - 2012

Description of the Events
The Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration offers a (5) five day family oriented, fun-filled week with a Parade, Historical Reenactment(s), a Golf Tournament, High School “Battle of the Bands”, a Community Health & Wellness Fair, and an outdoor Musical Festival featuring Hip-Hop, R&B, Jazz, Blues, Country, Zydeco and World Musical Performers on center stage during the festival portion of this event.

The Festival, utilizing the “FREEDOM TREE” (located in Freedom Tree Park) as a reminder of the tumultuous journey African – Americans traveled since their arrival to an inhospitable land, yet in spite of the prevailing conditions, manage to accomplish amazing feats.

The MCJCF strive to honor these accomplishments . .. thus the official opening of the “Juneteenth” celebration.
